Ok, now this is going to be a test of how many people actually read this blog. I'm bit scared of the outcome already.
None of my bags sold. Ok, I'm over the dissapoitment now, still little bit hurt but yeah well...
So I'm going to give one away. For free. Just because I want to. All you need to do is to leave me a comment in which you say which one of those three totesyou would like. That's it.
I'm going to check out the comments on sunday evening, that's sunday 15/6 at 9pm UK time.

New progress
I've not been just sitting around doing nothing, you know? Ok, I'm bit behind with Quilt along, but I'm going to work on that this week...
But this is what I made:
Mei Tai carrier for me and my baby:

No in action photo yet, baby boy is ill and in no mood to mess around with mama's new toy.
And this is a present for a baby to be born next month:

Funny how I enjoyed crocheting this little hat. I never really liked crocheting but maybe my time has just come.
Off to comfort my baby boy.

Vintage lace tote bag
Let me introduce you to:

Lovely summer bag with a vintage lace attached at the front. It's nice and light but strong enough to be used as a handbag or to carry your groceries, if you need it to. Flowery fabric gives it a fresh feel and a feminine look.
Material used: 100% linen natural look
100% cotton
Vintage lace
Measurements: approx 15" x 12", handles are approx 30" long (long enough to slip the bag over your shoulder and short enough to carry the bag in your hands)
Will comfortably fit a A4 sized notepad.
The bag also has an inside pocket measuring 8 1/4" x 6,5".
You can buy it here.
Shipping to UK: Royal mail first class £ 1,50
Shipping to USA: Airmail small packets £ 3,00 or equivalent in $

Totes finished
I made 3 tote bags that I'd like to sell. Before I take some decent pictures I'll leave you just with few snaps.

I'm probably going to put them up at ebay, even though I thought of Big Cartel as well. But on ebay I have a better chance of actually selling them as many people search for all sorts of things. And it's more popular then Big Cartel.
I don't know. Now is a chance for all the lurkers to reveal themselves and tell me, if you were to buy something, would you go to Ebay.co.uk or to Big Cartel? Etsy is out of the question, can't register for selling :-(
I just want to say few words about selling what I make.
I know some people thing that if one wants to sell their creations, they are going after money. That if one likes to sew, one should do it for the love of sewing/crafting not for the money. And I agree.
But.
Our small family lives on one income. And if I can help our budget, I will. Working outside is out of the question, baby is too small and I've not yet formed an opinion about daycare. So why not doing what I like AND earning a little cash on the side? I am positive that this sewing of mine will never become a full on business. And I don't want it to. I like it small and simple.
I could have another blog all together about how I try to keep the expenses low and live out of a budget. But that would be boring and I don't want my blog to be about money. I want it to be about something I like (not that I don't like money, you know what I mean :-)).
I think I make nice things, I have an eye for detail and I like a good finish. No loose threads. I like my things to look good on the outside as well on the inside. I will only sell something that I would buy myself, something that I can honestly say: That's really good, I like that. Nothing half-done, no cheating.
And I hope there are still people that appreciate that. That like quality and support handmade.
Are you one of them?

Quilt along week 4
Dancing apples tote bag continued
Valerie asked me in a comment how I came up with the name Dancing apples tote bag.
I have to admit I'm not original at all. The name "dancing apples" is, in fact, the name of the green fabric used for the front pocket. It has no apples there. I have no idea how the fabric designers came up with that name. But I like it :-)
And to be honest, the more I look at it, the more those little flowers look like apples to me. Happy, dancing apples.
I've finished two more totes, those I'm intending to sell, but before I take some decent pictures I'll leave you with the name of one of them:
Summer dream tote bag
Let your imagination run wild :-)
